Year 1 – Foundational Principles of God’s Call to Ministry

Faith City Bible Institute is the best bible college online, and in year one we offer multiple courses to teach effective methods. We encourage you to read below to discover what our bible institute can offer.

The purpose of Year 1 is to:

  • Instill a spirit of faith through teaching

  • Promote principles of excellence, discipline, and organization

  • Teach effective methods of using Biblical study tools

Students enrolled in Year 1 will take the following courses:

Christian Apologetics 1

Christian Apologetics explores the branch of theology that is concerned with defending and proving the truth of Christian doctrine. What do we believe as Christians? Why do we believe it, and how do we live it out? These are the major points this course will examine.

Divine Health

Divine Health explores God’s will as it relates to sickness and disease, and it provides an in-depth study of the origin of sickness and scriptural methods of healing.

Dynamics of Prayer

Dynamics of Prayer emphasizes prayer as the foundation of the Christian lifestyle. It also explores the reasons Christians should pray, and the benefits of a strong prayer life.

Hermeneutics 1

Hermeneutics 1 introduces students to various resources and methods for studying the Bible.

Jesus in the Old Testament

Jesus in the Old Testament provides a systemic overview of the “types and shadows” of Jesus Christ, as represented in the books of the Old Testament.

Principles of Faith

Principles of Faith provides an overview of the Biblical fundamentals of faith and its importance. It also answers the questions: “How does faith work?” and “How is faith developed?”

Prosperity

Prosperity examines Biblical prosperity and its relation to every area of the Christian’s life. In addition, it examines the will of God’s concerning prosperity.

The Authority of the Believer

The Authority of the Believer emphasizes that spiritual authority is delegated to every believer, and that understanding authority is an important key to effective ministry.

Understanding God’s Call to Ministry

Understanding God’s Call to Ministry answers the vital questions: “Who is called?”, “What is a call?”, and “What attributes are necessary to fulfilling the call?”

Academic Dean: Elder Donald Grant

Donald Grant is a native of Maryland and an ordained Minister of Jesus Christ. He is a licensed Real Estate Professional and Agent at Samson Properties. Elder Donald holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from The American University in Washington, DC. He is a senior leader and faithful member of the Pastoral Staff of Faith City Central and an active member of Prayer Made EZ. Elder Donald proudly serves as the Dean of Year 1 at Faith City Bible Institute (FCBI). In addition to these impactful roles, Elder Donald is a pillar in the community and often lends his time to encourage and motivate youth and young men to become upstanding leaders and citizens in their communities.

Elder Donald has been married to the love of his life, Pastor Deborah Grant, for nearly three decades. He is the proud father of three amazing children, Jada, Donovan, and Nia, and is a beaming first-time grandfather to Navy J. Elder Donald believes that EVERYTHING in life is attainable through the Word of God and hard work. He enjoys being an example to others on how to WIN in life and places a premium on the Word of God for the winning edge in life. Donald’s main desire in life is to reach his full potential and to teach and inspire others to do the same.
